Easter Monday

April 5, 2021

“But he said to them, ‘Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him.'” Mark 16:6

Blessed Easter Monday!

Yesterday was wonderful; what a difference a year makes. Unlike last year, we were able to include a choir, the bell choir, brass, and timpani in our live-streamed service. Unlike last year, we were able to hold in-person services of Holy Communion. What a joy to see people, some of whom I hadn’t seen in over a year! Unlike last year, Pastor Troy was here to preside in worship. Unlike last year, we were able to (safely) celebrate with friends after services ended. Yesterday was a good day, with signs of resurrection all around.

Many thanks to all who helped prepare for and lead worship during Holy Week and Easter. Y’all are the best, and there’s no place I’d rather be than serving the Lord with y’all at Grace. Yesterday was a good day.

Today’s pretty good, too. I got up early with the boys, then went back to bed. I finished a book about the U.S. Women’s National Team (soccer). I ate lunch at 10:00am (egg salad). I’m doing this. And now I’m going to go do something else. Enjoy your day!

Alleluia! Christ is risen!

Lord of Life, we praise you for the death and resurrection of your Son. May the abundant life of Jesus take deeper root in us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
