Thankfuls

Every night at bedtime we do our “thankfuls.” We are typically splayed out on the floor of the room shared by Greta and Anders when, during our prayer time, we each share what we’re thankful for that day.
So, since it’s Thanksgiving Eve, and since I’m procrastinating, here are my thankfuls for the past year, in no particular order:
- Torsten’s laugh
- My Tuesday Bible study group
- Brauhaus Wittenberg
- The fountains at the K
- The teachers and staff of St. Peter’s Lutheran School, because y’all rock
- Gas station egg salad sandwiches, dicey proposition though they be
- Forgiveness
- Mission Lake
- Pinot noir
- Anders’ cuddles, when he sits still long enough to be cuddled
- Outdoor viewing areas for World Cup games
- Church meal leftovers
- Fjords
- Greta’s smile
- Impromptu family dance parties
- My coworkers, because y’all are the best
- Walking along the Danube
- Lost luggage being found
- My Big Big Friend
- The privilege of being called to proclaim the Gospel
- The old Seagull guitar, which I neglect unfairly
- Country Breakfast
- Phish: old friends always there when I need them
- The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – we’re not perfect but that’s kind of the point
- Flip flops
- Cheese curds
- Hope
- A fun postseason run by the Royals
- The fact that all three kids are sleeping right now
- Our good, good friends
- French’s French Fried Onions
- The letters of Paul
- St. Peter’s Lutheran Church
- Driving through the night
- Bacon
- Freedom – may it come to all
- My first beard, even if it’s a bit sad
- Lefse
- Erika. Everything about Erika
- The gift of knowing and being known by God
May you be full of thankfuls, too.
