Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag!

“May he grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your plans.” Psalm 20:4
I hope I got that right; I totally just googled how to say “Happy Birthday!” in German. Nothing frustrates a language teacher more than one of her students using Google to translate their work. It’s a good thing I’m not being graded for these blogs.
Anyway, today is our family’s fifth pandemic birthday. Happy birthday, dearest Erika! Thank you for being the amazing person that God made you to be. May the Lord indeed grant you your heart’s desire, today and every day!
Alright, time to go buy the doughnuts! We’ve got some celebrating to do.
Be well, friends. You are loved.
Gracious God, we thank you for the gift of life. Bless all those who celebrate today, that they would find joy and blessing even in the midst of all that afflicts us during this pandemic. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Happy Birthday Erica!
