“For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of live.” Ephesians 2:10

Eleven years ago today, Greta Jane entered the world. Happy birthday, Greta!

This is our family’s first pandemic birthday. It will be a bit different, of course. But some things remain the same. In the Lyle home, we don’t wait to celebrate. We open presents while eating a breakfast chosen by the birthday girl or boy. So, I have to go get breakfast!

I could write forever about Greta, but I won’t. Dear Greta, I will simply say that I give thanks to God for making you. A world without a Greta wouldn’t be quite as bright. I am grateful for these years so far, and I can’t wait to see what good works God does through you in years to come. May you know and trust God’s love for you always.

Happy birthday!

Be well, friends. You are loved.

God of life, thank you for creating us. For loving us. For redeeming us. Thank you for each day of our lives. Teach us to look to you, the giver of all good things, trusting that you will provide for us. Let us do good works to your glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
